Principal Engineer : Up to £650PD : Outside IR35 : Hybrid London : 3 months rolling

A globally scaled technology business is seeking a Principal Engineer to define the next generation of its API platform.

Operating at significant scale, this is a hands-on engagement with real influence over the architectural direction of a critical engineering pillar.

Key responsibilities as a Principal Engineer:

• Defining and driving the architectural vision for a large-scale API ecosystem
• Designing cloud-native distributed systems at scale
• Building high-throughput event-driven services
• Leading on security, observability, performance, and maintainability
• Championing TDD, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and automated testing
• Embedding AI-powered capabilities into engineering workflows

Skills and requirements:

• TypeScript, Node.js,
• AWS (EKS, Lambda, Aurora RDS), Kubernetes,
• GraphQL, Kafka, Terraform, DataDog
• Salesforce or enterprise CRM experience is a strong advantage

Contract details:

• IR35: Up to £650PD Outside IR35
• Contract length: 3 months rolling
• Location: London (Hybrid)
• Start date: ASAP
