Role Type: 2 Year Fixed Term Contract

Salary: £45,177 + benefits

Our client, an established defence manufacturing firm, require an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join their multi-disciplined team in Washington, Tyne & Wear.

As a Maintenance Supervisor you will be supervising and line managing a team of multi-skilled maintenance staff carrying out maintenance activities on our Washington site. You’ll lead a team delivering high quality maintenance activities, ensuring workmanship, safety and reporting standards are consistently met.

What the role of the Maintenance Supervisor entails:

• Overseeing the procurement of parts and materials, contribute to daily production meetings and create or review maintenance instructions and risk assessments. This role includes full people management responsibilities supporting your team to perform at their best
• Managing teams to carry out maintenance activities, checking standards of maintenance and reactive work while coaching team members as required to deliver high levels of craftsmanship and job reporting
• Coordinating the department workload via SAP to ensure KPIs are achieved
• Managing failure data on equipment and generating breakdown reports
• Procure spare parts and materials that are required for work orders
• Attending daily production meetings
• Writing and reviewing maintenance instructions and risk assessments

What experience you need to be the successful Maintenance Supervisor:

• Time served Electrical or Mechanical apprenticeship, preferably with HNC/HND qualification
• Experience managing/supervising teams preferable within a manufacturing environment
• Safety Qualifications (e.g. IOSH, or willing to work towards IOSH qualification)
• Large manufacturing environment experience
• Experience in computer management systems

Candidates would need to hold British nationality and have lived & worked in the UK for 5+ years and be eligible for SC security clearance.
