HGV Class 2 Driver New Passes Welcome Gloucester

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Driver New Passes Welcome Gloucester to join our well-established client based in Gloucester.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering ongoing work, excellent rates of pay, full training, and long-term opportunities for both experienced and newly qualified drivers.

This role would suit candidates with previous experience as a HGV Class 2 Driver, LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver, Multi-Drop Driver, Delivery Driver, or Truck Driver.

Shifts

24-hour operation

Rates of Pay

£17.05 per hour
PAYE Holiday accrued separately

Day-to-Day Duties

As a HGV Class 2 Driver, your duties will include:

Driving waste and recycling vehicles safely and professionally
Following pre-planned collection routes and route risk assessments
Carrying out reversing manoeuvres and careful driving in narrow residential streets
Assisting with vehicle loading where required
Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
Adhering to all traffic laws and road safety regulations
Maintaining accurate paperwork and delivery records
Communicating effectively with transport teams, customers, and site staff
Working alongside a Drivers Mate to complete collections efficiently
Some handball duties required

Essential Skills

As a HGV Class 2 Driver, you will need:

A valid UK Category C Licence
Valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
No more than six penalty points for minor offences
No IN, DR, DD, or CD endorsement codes
Strong communication and customer service skills
Good understanding of road safety and driver compliance
Reliable, professional, and punctual attitude

Desirable Experience

Previous commercial driving or multi-drop experience
Experience handling large or bulky goods
Previous customer-facing delivery experience

Training Provided

Full industry-related training provided
Ongoing support and development throughout your assignment
