Your Role
As a Residential Childrens Support Worker, youll play a key role in supporting and empowering young people who have experienced trauma. Youll contribute to every aspect of their care and development in a professional, compassionate, and consistent way.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the emotional, physical, and educational development of young people.
- Contribute to and implement individual care plans and risk assessments.
- Maintain high standards in residential care as expected by Ofsted.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals.
- Serve as a consistent, positive role model and mentor.
- Manage challenging behaviour and support children in crisis with a calm, trauma-informed approach.
- Encourage the development of independence, life skills, and social integration.
- Maintain detailed, accurate records and follow procedures and risk assessments.
What We're Looking For
- A genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs and trauma backgrounds.
- Resilience, patience, and commitment to never giving up on a child.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in childrens residential care is welcomed but not essential.We value a wide range of life experiences and transferable skills, including hobbies or talents that can positively engage young people.
Shift Pattern & Hours
- 5-week rolling rota: 2 days on, 3 days off
- Shifts: 10:00 AM 11:00 PM (followed by a sleep-in)
- Flexibility to cover early or late shifts between 7:30 AM and 10:30 PM
- Includes weekend work as part of the rota
