Job description
Driver Hire Southampton are recruiting on behalf of a well-established general haulage company for an experienced Class 2 Driver. This is a great opportunity to join a professional and supportive operation delivering palletised freight to commercial customers across the UK.
About this Class 2 position:
- Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays on a rota basis
- Start time: 7:15am
- Long-distance deliveries throughout the UK
- Delivering palletised freight to commercial customers
- Use of a pump truck for unloading pallets (some sites may unload via forklift)
- Completing daily vehicle checks and accurately maintaining all paperwork
Requirements from you as a Class 2 Driver:
- Full UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
- Minimum of 2 years' Class 2 driving experience
- Previous experience strapping loads securely
- Experience driving 18-tonne or 26-tonne curtain-side tail-lift vehicles
- Good understanding of drivers' hours and health & safety regulations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently
- Reliable, professional, and safety-focused approach
