Duties & Responsibilities

Stores Assistant Function

  • Issuing of spares to work order requirements
  • Accurate cycle counting
  • Maintain the re-ordering system as required and proposing changes to order points
  • Communicate stock shortages in a timely manner to ensure stock levels are maintained to the agreed level
  • To ensure the stores area is kept in a clean and tidy manner
  • Receive and receipt goods into the department and make sure delivery note matches purchase order. To highlight any discrepancies in the appropriate manner (carrying out corporate governance role D – Inventory, with respect to Purchase to Pay Cycle – Goods and Services )
  • Despatch items for repair as and when required
  • Process work orders within the department when required
  • Issue relevant stock movement reports in the absence of the purchasing controller (engineering)
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested

Essential:

  • Attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good Literacy and numeracy skills
  • Full Driving Licence
  • Knowledge of inventory management techniques
  • The ability to plan and organise own workload to best effect and to be methodical in approach.
  • Able to work on own initiative.
  • High degree of IT literacy including Microsoft Office and familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems/ERP systems
  • Able to produce reports and manage computer systems being familiar with Word, Excel, and similar office applications
  • Strives for continuous improvement
