Job summaryWe have an exciting opportunity for a Part time Senior Mental Health Nurse to join the Mental Health team at HMP Leeds, a Category B men's prison housing males aged 21+.

Hours: 16.5 hours a week, Monday – Friday 1 pm‐9 pm. No weekends, no nights.

Salary: Full‐time equivalent, annual salary up to £49,175 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for assessment and ongoing management of patients' mental health needs.

Work collaboratively with the multi‐disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner, managing a caseload of patients and assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan.

Contribute to the nursing strategy and vision to provide outstanding evidence‐based care, seeking out, listening to and acting on patient feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.

Deliver non‐judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.

Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care following our policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding.

Qualifications

NMC Registered

Experience working within mental health settings

Evidence of continued professional development

Experience collaborating with other agencies and stakeholders in a multi‐disciplinary environment

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
