Part-time Sonographer

OverviewNorth Middlesex University Hospital is part of the Royal Free Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Our General Ultrasound scan department operates a comprehensive 7‐day service with five on‐site scanning rooms, including 7 obstetrics and 2 gynaecology rooms. The department also runs limited Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) sessions twice a week and is staffed by a friendly team of 16 sonographers who work across general, obstetrics, gynaecology and lithotripsy services.

Responsibilities

Carry out independent ultrasound examinations in general, gynaecology and obstetric fields.

Write accurate and timely reports for all ultrasound scans.

Participate in a flexible rota, including weekend and evening work, and support the team on compressed hours where possible.

Maintain high standards of patient care, adhere to departmental guidelines and protocols, and contribute to clinical audit and continuous professional development.

Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals to deliver outstanding patient care.

Qualifications

Postgraduate qualification in ultrasound.

Registration with the Health Professions Council or equivalent.

Completed Obstetric and Gynaecology, Abdominal modules in Medical Ultrasound and certification of competency for Nuchal Translucency scanning.

High level of ultrasound scanning skills and ability to work independently under pressure.
