Trainee Transport Team Leader

We are looking for a Trainee Transport Team Leader to join our growing Transport and Operations team at our Newcastle Depot.You will serve as a key point of contact for our Waste Services customers, therefore your passion for delivering excellent customer service is essential. Alongside this, you will support the coordination and development of a team of drivers, helping to ensure our day‐to‐day logistics operation runs efficiently and safely.This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You will be working in a fast‐paced environment where strong organisation, communication and decision‐making skills are key to success.Job Activities Welcome and support customers across multiple communication platforms including telephone, email, live chat and face to faceBuild strong, lasting relationships with customers and deliver excellent service at all timesProactively manage high volumes of calls, emails and orders with accuracy and efficiencyAccurately create, record and schedule orders/services using bespoke IT systemsHandle customer queries and complaints professionally, ensuring a positive outcomeSupport the daily coordination and planning of drivers across skips, hook and trade waste servicesPromote the company's services and support business growthEnsure compliance with health and safety, tachograph and driver hours regulationsAssist with driver performance, engagement and developmentSupport driver administration including holidays, sickness and wage queriesWork collaboratively with internal departments including accounts and wider operationsContribute to a positive team environment and promote company valuesKnowledge and Skills Required Excellent communication skills with a confident and professional mannerStrong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy environmentGood IT skills, including Microsoft systems and accurate data inputAbility to build rapport and maintain strong working relationshipsA proactive and self‐motivated approachStrong attention to detailAbility to handle challenging situations and problem solve effectivelyPositive attitude and willingness to learnWhat We Offer Weekly pay with a competitive salaryFull training and development providedCareer progression opportunities within the businessEmployee Benefit SchemeBe part of a company committed to safety, sustainability, and supporting its peopleWho Are We?
