RoleHighly Specialist Dietitian (Band 7 equivalent)
Employer & ServiceCygnet Hospital Taunton is opening a new 15‐bed neuro‐cognitive service for older adults with complex cognitive and neurological conditions alongside psychiatric sequelae.
Responsibilities
Determine how dietetic input is best delivered to meet the needs of individuals and the service.
Hold a small active caseload and provide direct 1:1 input, advice to staff, unit‐based clinics and possibly group work to manage complex presentations.
Provide comprehensive dietetic assessment and produce individualized dietetic plans.
Collaborate closely with the catering team, Speech and Language team and wider multidisciplinary team to give specialist advice on meal plans and feeding regimens.
Qualifications
Registered Dietitian with a degree or postgraduate diploma (or equivalent) in Dietetics.
Registration with HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) and membership of the BDA (British Dietetic Association).
Experience or knowledge of managing alternative (enteral) nutrition is desirable.
Experience supporting weight management and/or diabetes is essential.
Experience working with older adults, neuro‐rehabilitation or neuro‐degenerative conditions and/or mental health is strongly desirable.
Strong team‐player attitude with a genuine desire to help others.
Enthusiasm, motivation and passion for the role.
