Job OverviewWe have a fantastic opportunity for full time Ambulance Care Assistants to join our team based in Burntwood, Staffordshire. This is a full‐time permanent role working 10.5‐hour shifts, 4 days out of 7 on a rota basis. Please only apply if you can work these hours.
An Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) is a rewarding role. Each day you'll help someone in need, making their lives a little easier and providing a real sense of achievement.
Key Responsibilities
Transport elderly, sick and vulnerable service users to and from their medical appointments and between healthcare facilities, either as part of a two‐person crew or alone.
Ensure a full UK driving licence and good physical fitness.
Assist in the transportation of end‐of‐life service users, ensuring a high level of empathy at all times.
Build rapport by effectively communicating with patients and their relatives/friends.
Be responsible for lifting, securing and helping service users in and out of the ambulance.
Hand over patients to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment centres/hospitals or to family/friends at their homes.
Transfer patients from beds to stretchers, chairs to chairs or similar both in and out of hospitals and medical/commercial flights.
Assist service users with challenging behaviour and/or mental health illnesses.
Ensure that the ambulance is kept safe, clean and tidy.

Qualifications & Requirements
Committed to patient care.
Effective communicator, experienced in emotional circumstances.
Calm, considerate, careful driver with no more than three penalty points on licence.
Natural flair for teamwork and collaboration.
Physically fit for patient handling and moving.
Pass an Enhanced DBS check (company funded).
Can work flexible shifts.
Familiar with local and surrounding area.
Hold a valid UK (Manual) driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
