Senior Payroll Administrator (Full or Part-Time)

THE OPPORTUNITYA fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced full or part time Senior Payroll Administrator to join a friendly and progressive accountancy practice in Chester.

THE ROLEAs part of a busy payroll team, you'll manage a diverse portfolio of small and high-volume payrolls, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and delivering excellent service to clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

End-to-end processing of weekly and monthly payrolls

Managing auto-enrolment pensions

Handling payroll queries in a timely and professional manner

Liaising with HMRC and pension providers

Processing BACS, PAYE, CIS, holiday pay, SMP/SSP

Managing starters and leavers (P45s/P46s)

Supporting P11D processing

Staying up to date with payroll legislation

Mentoring and supporting junior team members

You will receive full system training and ongoing support within a friendly, collaborative team environment.

ABOUT YOU

Proven payroll experience (accountancy practice or bureau preferred, but in-house considered)

Strong understanding of payroll legislation and processes

Experience with Sage 50 Payroll or BrightPay (training provided)

Ability to manage multiple payrolls and meet deadlines

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Proactive, organised, and capable of working independently and as part of a team

Proficient in Microsoft Office

SALARY & BENEFITS

Salary up to £31,000 (depending on experience)

36 days holiday (including bank holidays and Christmas period)
