Job DescriptionHealth Care Assistant position at Boyatt Wood Surgery, Eastleigh Hampshire.

Responsibilities

Provide support to nurses and GP's as part of the clinical team.

Perform venepuncture and administer injections/vaccines under a PSD (B12, pneumonia, shingles, flu & COVID).

Remove sutures, staples, clips and conduct stitch removal.

Carry out ECG and Urinalysis.

Assist in NHS Health Checks and Annual Reviews (hypertension or diabetic).

Follow agreed clinical protocols and refer to GP as required.

Check and maintain GP and nurse rooms – stocking, rotating items and general tidiness.

Check emergency equipment and fridge temperature.

Participate in administrative systems and maintain accurate records.

Advise senior staff of potential problems or errors within the range of assigned tasks.

Attend required training and participate in nurse, clinical and practice meetings.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years experience as a Health Care Assistant.

Previous experience working in a GP practice.

Disclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post requires a Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 check. Disclosure and Barring Service submission will be required.
