OverviewWe are recruiting Trainees Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP's) for the Steps 2 Wellbeing Team in Rural Dorset, covering the localities of Mid/West Dorset, Weymouth & Portland, North Dorset and Purbeck/East Dorset. This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic, supportive service that provides psychological interventions for adults with mild to moderate common mental health problems in primary care.

Role SummaryAs a Trainee PWP, you will deliver CBT‐based Guided Self‐Help interventions, conduct person‐centred assessments, and manage administrative tasks. The position is full‐time; part‐time applications are not accepted due to university requirements.

Responsibilities

Deliver face‐to‐face interventions (minimum two days per week) and conduct remote sessions as needed.

Complete person‐centred assessments for patients experiencing depression and/or anxiety disorders, including Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder and Obsessive‐Compulsive Disorder.

Maintain accurate clinical records and administrative documentation.

Engage in intensive supervision and workplace support throughout the training year.

Training ProgrammeYou will undertake academic training accredited by the University of Exeter, combined with on‐the‐job learning. University study follows a hybrid model of online learning and scheduled face‐to‐face teaching days. Training includes:

Learning CBT‐based guided self‐help techniques.

Practicing person‐centred assessment methods.

Participating in regular supervision sessions.

Eligibility & Experience

Demonstrated enthusiasm and passion for mental health services.

Excellent administrative, time‐management and communication skills.

Experience working within mental health, the NHS, or a similar organisation is highly desirable.
