Occupational Therapy Assistant (Part-time)Cygnet Hospital Harrow is seeking a confident Occupational Therapy Assistant to support recovery and rehabilitation activities for adults with learning disabilities and autism spectrum disorder. The role is part‐time, providing 22.5 hours across three days per week.

Working hours: 22.5 hours (3 days per week)

Salary: £18,112 per annum (Full‐time equivalent £30,186)

Location: Cygnet Hospital Harrow, London Road, Harrow‐on‐the‐hill, HA1 3JL

Reports to: Head of Occupational Therapy and Regional Lead Occupational Therapist

ResponsibilitiesThe Occupational Therapy Assistant will:

Plan and facilitate therapeutic activities tailored to each patient's needs, interests, and goals.

Support individuals in developing independence in daily living skills.

Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (nurses, psychologists, speech and language therapists, psychiatrists, social workers, and other OTs) to deliver comprehensive care.

Participate in ward rounds and MDT meetings, contributing to care planning and progress reviews.

Document and monitor patient progress using established recording systems.

Assist with the integration of evidence‐based practice and the Occupational Therapy pathway on the ward.

Engage in ongoing professional development, including a 12‐month preceptorship and virtual Q&A sessions with the clinical lead OT.

Encourage participation in MDT reviews and rotate between rehabilitation and acute wards as required.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience working with adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Excellent communication and time‐management skills.

Ability to manage highly demanding clinical presentations.

Interest and experience in adult mental health and learning disabilities.

Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check and reference check.

Training & SupportNew recruits will benefit from a structured induction programme, a 12‐month preceptorship, and regular virtual Q&A sessions with the clinical lead OT.
