Dental Receptionist

Job SummaryThe vacancy is for an experienced receptionist to work in the Manchester Community Dental Service at Forum Health. The working pattern is 37.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday).

Responsibilities

Provide a professional and welcoming first contact for all patients and visitors.

Manage referrals: register referrals, book and cancel appointments using the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system.

Telephone liaison with patients, carers and professionals in a polite and courteous manner.

Maintain and update patient records.

Deal with patient charges, exemptions, outstanding debts and balancing monies.

Book interpreters to facilitate care where required and liaise with key workers and other health professionals.

Liaise with other clinics within MCDS and redirect patients where appropriate.

Manage appointments according to MCDS policy, including patients in pain and missed appointments, and ensure recalls are sent where appropriate.

Provide administrative support: scanning, photocopying, filing, and ensuring the smooth running of the dental office/reception area.

Be flexible to work at other locations within MCDS when required.

Qualifications

Previous reception experience.

GCSE level education or equivalent.

Good IT skills; experience with a dental IT software package is an advantage.
