PositionDeputy Ward Manager (Band 6) – Oak Ward, County Hospital
Job OverviewLead and manage ward activities on a shift‐by‐shift basis, acting in the absence of the Ward Manager. Plan, implement and evaluate evidence‐based nursing care within a recovery‐focused service. Mentor and supervise junior staff, and collaborate with the multi‐disciplinary team to deliver high‐quality patient care while ensuring compliance with the National Service Framework.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and management of ward activities during each shift.
Plan, implement and evaluate evidence‐based nursing care for patients.
Mentor and supervise junior staff, fostering professional development.
Collaborate with the multi‐disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Ensure compliance with the National Service Framework and relevant policies.
Essential Qualifications
Degree qualification.
Previous nursing service experience.
NMC registration.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience in primary care.
Previous managerial experience.
Experience in change management.
Required Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, approachable, compassionate and time‐management abilities.
Demonstrated evidence‐based clinical practice and mentoring experience.
