We are currently recruiting for a full‐time, permanent PTS Ambulance Care Assistant based at Harrogate Ambulance station.

* Training courses are full‐time, Monday to Friday for 4 weeks – full attendance is required.

Please note: you must have a full UK manual driving licence to apply for this role.

Main duties of the jobResponsible for the care and safe transportation of non-emergency PTS patients.

Ensuring timely transportation to and from appointments at hospitals, treatment centres, day units or other places of care.

At all times the post holder must ensure patient safety and reduction in harm to patients, self, colleagues, and others by assessing risks and adopting safe working practices.

Person SpecificationQualifications / Knowledge

Level 2 entry requirement – e.g. 3 GCSEs grades A*–C or NVQ level 2 qualification or equivalent experience.

Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development.

Basic IT skills – e.g. Word, e‐mail.

Ability to carry out manual handling, including lifting of patients and equipment.

Proven ability to handle sensitive situations professionally, assertively and tactfully.

Personal / Other

Full driving licence with no more than three penalty points for new entrants to YAS or a maximum of six for existing YAS employees.

Able to work as part of a team.

Experience

Background in a customer or patient‐oriented field.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills gained from experience of dealing with customers or members of the public.
