The ASD Assessment service is looking to recruit 2 Band 3 HCSW to support in making telephone calls to those on the waiting list and giving advice where appropriate.

The posts are full-time, fixed term for a period of 6 months from the date of employment.

The successful candidates will be confident in their communication skills, be proficient in using a computer and be able to manage your own workload.

The post will involve making telephone calls to those on the waiting list and giving advice.

Main duties of the job

Liaison with partner services and organisations.

Preparation/completion of routine documents, including letters, reports, presentations and forms e.g. Photocopying, filing.

Handling telephone queries including a shared responsibility for reception duties.

Job responsibilities

Communicates with service users and families, all members of the multi-disciplinary team and with external agencies using a variety of methods including Information Technology.

Regularly reports and effectively communicates the status of the Autism Assessment service users in care records and verbal reports to Registered Health Professional staff members and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

Relates appropriately with service user, carers, colleagues and others at all times maintaining professional boundaries.

At all times ensures that own actions, support the equality, diversity, rights and responsibilities of individuals.

Identifies, minimizes and reports risks of danger, harm and abuse to senior colleagues.

At all times minimizes risks to self and others by undertaking safe working practices.

Qualifications

Advanced Apprenticeship in (Mental) Health and Social Care or NVQ 3 in (Mental) Health and Social Care with demonstrable evidence of numeracy and literacy skills (equivalent GCSE's or Functional Skills)

Experience

Experience of working with children and/ or adults with Autism as a member of a multi-disciplinary team

Knowledge

Communicate appropriately with others at work.

Listen to, understand and follow lengthy or multi-step instructions and narratives.
