Specialised B6 Acute Paediatric Physiotherapist (part-time)Part‐time (24.25 hours) position with the acute paediatric physiotherapy team at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. The role involves assessment, treatment, intervention, and discharge planning for children referred to the service across in‐patient and out‐patient settings, including cystic fibrosis care and musculoskeletal cases for patients aged 0–5 years.

Main Duties

Provide assessment, treatment, intervention and discharge planning for referred children.

Manage own paediatric caseload and a defined area of the service (in‐patients and out‐patients) independently.

Respond flexibly to the current and future needs of the paediatric service.

Collaborate with consultants, paediatric and orthopaedic doctors to deliver an efficient service, including attendance at clinic sessions (CF clinic).

Complete training in the Ponseti technique and, under supervision, treat congenital talipes from birth to skeletal maturity.

Actively participate in the in‐service training programme by attending and delivering presentations and training sessions at staff meetings and tutorials.

Support the delivery of the paediatric physiotherapy on‐call competency package.

Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with medical, nursing and therapy colleagues to provide a coordinated multidisciplinary service.

Person SpecificationEducation and Qualification

Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy

HCPC Registered

Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio, including recent postgraduate courses relevant to the speciality

Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy

Membership of relevant special interest groups

Experience and Knowledge

Minimum of 18 months postgraduate NHS experience in general rotations, including respiratory

Experience managing, developing and supervising students or physiotherapy assistants

Experience teaching students and assistants

Experience in audit processes

Participation in an on‐call respiratory service

Experience in paediatric respiratory physiotherapy

Completed postgraduate courses in respiratory/paediatrics

Experience of student placement or rotation in paediatrics

Active participation in in‐service training

Skills and Ability

Motivation, drive and enthusiasm for delivering a quality service within a paediatric team

Valid full driver's licence and access to a car for work purposes
