Senior Support Workers

Job description

We are looking for dedicated and hard‐working Senior Support Workers for our client's Residential Children's Homes in Chippenham and Bristol. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a full and effective role as a member of the staff team, providing high-quality assessment and residential care for children and young people. Responsibilities

Ensure the safety & well-being of the young people we work with and to ensure all safeguarding concerns are reported quickly and appropriately.

Assist with daily activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication reminders, and mobility assistance.

Develop and follow support plans and assessments. Contributing towards new assessments including risk assessments as required.

Undertake administrative work as directed by your line Manager.

Establish and maintain relationships with community groups, in order to create positive opportunities for young people.

An effective communicator, both verbally and in written form. To keep records up to date and write reports as required.

Document and report any changes or concerns regarding the well‐being of individuals.

Have a good understanding of the companies' policies and procedures, including Safeguarding. All staff must keep the welfare and safety of children/vulnerable adults as paramount in their working practice.

Attend all training sessions as directed by your line manager or other more senior members of staff.

Take part in the staff rota, working at different times of the day including undertaking sleep‐in duties at night. All staff are expected to show flexibility and help cover sickness, annual leave and other absences as required.

Work as a part of a team.

Minimum requirements

NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Children's and Young People (required)

Must have at least 3 years' experience working in a Residential Children's Home

Flexibility on travel as you may need to cover shifts at either of the sites in Chippenham or Bristol.

Job Types: Full‐time, Permanent

Salary: From £14.00 per hour

Experience: Residential Children's Home: 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification: Driving Licence (preferred)
