Sector: Health, Public Services and CareReference: VAC-04494Application Deadline Date: 10/06/2026Start Date: 19/07/2026Working Week: Mon‐Fri 9am – 6pm, occasional SaturdaysAbout the role As a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice, you will support the day‐to‐day running of the pharmacy, helping customers and working closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service.You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside your role, with full training and support provided.Key Duties Supporting customers at the medicines counter and responding to queriesAssisting with the preparation and supply of prescriptions (under supervision)Handling stock, deliveries and maintaining accurate recordsUsing pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and salesMaintaining high standards of cleanliness, health & safety and confidentialityWorking as part of a team to ensure excellent customer serviceRequirements A genuine interest in healthcare and working with peopleStrong communication and customer service skillsGood attention to detail and willingness to learnAbility to work well in a fast‐paced environmentReliable, punctual and professionalBasic IT skillsCan drive and live within 35 minutes of the pharmacyQualifications GCSEs at A‐C or 4‐9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.Apprenticeship Details Qualification: Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant ApprenticeshipDuration: Typically 15 monthsTraining delivered alongside your job through blended learningApprentices must commit to contracted working hours and guided learning hoursBenefits £8 per hour salaryEarn while you learn in a respected healthcare roleGain a nationally recognised qualificationDevelop transferable skills and long‐term career opportunities in pharmacy
