Job SummaryHealth Care Assistant – Primary Care Services

Base: Princes Risborough and Buckinghamshire Clinics

Working hours: Fixed Term 24 months – 20 hours per week, Tuesday and Thursday all day, Wednesday morning

Salary: £11.84 per hour

33 days leave inclusive of bank holidays (FTE)

About FedBucksFedBucks is a federation of 45 GP practices covering a population of over 485,000 patients across Buckinghamshire. We employ around 200 staff across head‐office and planned/unplanned care services and work closely with local general practice and system partners to provide community‐based healthcare services.

Responsibilities

Assist the clinical team in the provision of community‐based Planned Care Services, including Intermediate Gynaecology, Phlebotomy and ECG taking.

Perform patient health checks, ECG recording, phlebotomy, spirometry and chaperoning duties.

Process and manage laboratory samples, medicines monitoring and recording.

Re‐stock surgical equipment, medicines and maintain stock rotation.

Clear and re‐stock consulting rooms; prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPwSI and Consultants during clinics.

Assist in assessment and surveillance of patient health and well‐being; undertake delegated clinical activities for named patients.

Help raise awareness of health and well‐being, and assist with collection and collation of related data.

Act as initial contact for patient complaints, complete incident reports and participate in clinical audits.

Contact patients for appointment booking and perform administration as required.

Carry out any additional reasonable duties asked by management.

Travel to NHS sites across the county – a full driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

Essential: GCSE or equivalent in English, Maths and IT.

Desirable: NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care, HCA 15 Competencies.

Experience (Desirable)

Processing and management of samples, medicines, surgical equipment and stock.

ECG recording, phlebotomy, chaperoning, patient health checks.

Experience working within a minor surgery or gynae clinical setting.
