We are seeking an experienced Product Design Engineer to join a growing design team, supporting both bespoke customer projects and new product development initiatives.

This role would suit a detail-oriented engineer with strong customer-facing experience, ideally from industries such as high-end automotive interiors (McLaren, Aston Martin, Bentley etc.), medical devices, defence, or other precision-engineered product environments.


This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-quality furniture and ironmongery products, combining fast-turnaround bespoke projects with longer-term engineering and product development activities within a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings using Autodesk Inventor/Vault or similar CAD platforms
  • Design assemblies with moving components for real-world manufacture
  • Develop bespoke products from initial customer concept through to production
  • Support new product development and continuous improvement of existing products
  • Apply GD&T principles and support tolerance analysis activities
  • Contribute to DFMEA / PPAP activities and robust product development processes
  • Produce BOMs, costings, estimates, and technical documentation
  • Maintain accurate CAD and ERP system data
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing, purchasing, and cross-functional teams
  • Manage projects from concept through to production release


Required Experience

  • Degree/HNC/HND in Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience using Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar 3D CAD software
  • Experience designing assemblies containing moving parts/mechanisms
  • Experience producing production-ready drawings and 3D models
  • Good working knowledge of GD&T
  • Experience supporting DFMEA / PPAP processes
  • Experience using ERP systems and CAD data management tools
  • Technical customer-facing or technical sales exposure would be advantageous
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacture
  • Comfortable operating within a fast-paced engineering environment
