Electrical Technician | Peterborough | 12-Month FTC

Full-time | 37.5 hours per week

26 days holiday + bank holidays

An established engineering organisation within the environmental and industrial services sector is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This role is based full-time at a Peterborough site, which supports large-scale industrial equipment and a fleet of mobile treatment units.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for the assembly, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems across a range of specialist equipment.

⚙ Key Responsibilities

• Fabrication, installation, and documentation of electrical systems
• Working with single-phase, three-phase, low-voltage, and extra low voltage circuits
• Preparation and termination of electrical wiring
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
• Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical faults and proposing solutions
• Configuration of instrumentation
• Testing systems involving PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and relays
• Electrical and mechanical commissioning of bespoke equipment
• Carrying out quality inspections, testing, and repairs of equipment
• Electrical inspection and testing (EIC, EICR, PAT)

✅ Requirements

• City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installations (or equivalent) – essential
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• Proven experience within industrial electrical environments
• Experience wiring and fault-finding PLC-controlled systems

⭐ Desirable

• City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing)
• Passport to Safety (or equivalent)
