Job DescriptionThe King's School, Canterbury, one of the country's leading schools with a rich musical heritage, invites applications for a Graduate Musician in Residence from September 2026. This is an outstanding opportunity for a recent music graduate seeking a dynamic and enriching year within a major independent school. The role would equally suit someone considering a future in music education or performance, with a great deal of meaningful experience across the full spectrum of school music-making.

Responsibilities

Chamber music coaching

Sectional rehearsals for orchestral ensembles

Supporting our choral programme, including weekly sung worship in Canterbury Cathedral

Supervising practice and managing music scholar schedules

Providing assistance in the classroom

Potential opportunities to contribute to academic music teaching
