Senior Support Worker – Children's Residential Home – HorshamSalary: £28,582 | Flexible rota including weekends.

A well-established residential childcare provider is looking for an experienced Senior Support Worker to join their team in Horsham. This role is advertised by 1Four1 Recruitment.

This role offers an opportunity for an experienced Support Worker ready to take the next step, supporting children and young people in a residential care setting while helping to lead shifts and guide junior staff. The service focuses on a person-centred approach, promoting independence, personal growth and positive outcomes for young people.

Key Responsibilities

Lead shifts in the absence of the Team Leader.

Support children and young people within a residential care setting.

Administer medication in line with policies and care plans.

Contribute to care planning, risk assessments and reviews.

Promote independence, wellbeing and healthy lifestyles.

Support individuals to access the community and build social networks.

Work closely with families, carers and external professionals.

Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.

Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Support the development of a safe, structured and positive environment.

Requirements

Previous experience working with children or young people in a care setting.

Experience as a Support Worker, Senior Support Worker or Residential Childcare Worker.

Ability to lead shifts and support junior staff.

NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (preferred).

Understanding of safeguarding, health & safety and equal opportunities.

Good communication skills and a proactive, flexible approach.

Comfortable working a rota including weekends and bank holidays.

Right to work in the UK.
