Job description
Purpose of the RoleWe are seeking two enthusiastic and proactive Park Rangers to support the upkeep, safety, and presentation of the park and lake areas at Magna Park, Lutterworth. The successful candidates will be responsible for patrolling designated areas, engaging with park users, and ensuring the environment remains clean, safe, and well maintained.
This role is ideal for individuals passionate about nature, community engagement, and maintaining high environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular patrols of the park, lakes, and surrounding areas during designated shift times
Identify and report maintenance issues such as damaged infrastructure, or hazards
Flag security concerns and elevate appropriately to relevant teams
Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of all park areas, including litter picking
Engage positively with residents and visitors to promote responsible use of the park
Monitor lakes and natural areas for environmental concerns
Support community initiatives and encourage good environmental practices
Assist with minor upkeep duties where appropriate
Record and report incidents, observations, and required actions
Work collaboratively with contractors, security, and Magna Park Management Team
Person SpecificationEssential Skills & Experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and manage patrol routines
Passion for nature, outdoor environments, and community engagement
Good observational skills and attention to detail
Reliable and punctual with a proactive approach
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Desirable Experience
Previous park ranger, caretaker, estate operative, or grounds role
Experience working in community-facing environments
Basic understanding of health & safety practices
Desirable Qualifications / Accreditations
Level 2 Award in Countryside Management
Level 2 or 3 in Horticulture or Environmental Conservation
IOSH Working Safely or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
First Aid at Work / Emergency First Aid certification
Environmental Awareness Training
Wildlife Trust or conservation volunteer experience
Working Pattern
4 days on / 4 days off shift rotation
Outdoor role covering parkland and lakeside areas
Walking-based patrol duties
