HR Officer (part time)

Job description

PART-TIME HR OFFICER15-18 hours per week | £30,000-£34,000 pro rata | Diss, Norfolk | Hybrid working

Michelle Denny Recruitment has been chosen to find an experienced Part-Time HR Officer for Citizens Advice Diss & Thetford (CADAT) – a well-respected local charity supporting people across Norfolk and Suffolk with debt, housing, benefits, and more.

This is a standalone role – meaning you'll be the only HR professional in the organisation. That's a positive if you're someone who likes to get on with things, build trusted relationships, and make decisions without layers of sign‐off. If that sounds like you, read on.

THE ROLEYou'll take ownership of day‐to‐day HR across the organisation, covering the full employee lifecycle and working directly with managers to help them handle people matters with confidence.

Your responsibilities will include:

Employee relations – performance, conduct, and absence

Contracts, policies, and HR documentation

Recruitment, onboarding, and compliance checks

HR systems and employee records

Annual leave and sickness monitoring

First point of contact for all HR queries across the organisation

ABOUT YOUYou'll be an experienced HR generalist who is comfortable working independently. You're the kind of person who figures things out rather than waiting to be told.

You'll also be:

Confident handling employee relations matters end to end

Able to give practical, balanced advice managers can act on

Experienced with HR systems – BreatheHR or similar is a bonus

Organised and able to manage your own workload within a part‐time pattern

CIPD qualified is welcomed but not essential – we're more interested in what you've actually done.

WORKING PATTERN

15-18 hours per week

Minimum two days per week on site in Diss

Hybrid working available for remaining hours

NEED TO KNOW

A DBS check will be required as part of the appointment process

By applying, you consent to your CV being shared directly with CADAT

WHY APPLY?Plenty of part‐time HR roles offer flexibility. Fewer offer the chance to genuinely shape how an organisation looks after its people.

If meaningful work and real autonomy matter to you, this is worth a conversation.
