Behaviour Support Worker Required for Secondary School Alternative Provision in BradfordAbout the role:This Behaviour Support Worker role is based within a supportive and proactive on‐site alternative provision in a secondary school in Bradford. The provision supports students who require additional behavioural, emotional, and pastoral support to help them re‐engage with education and achieve positive outcomes.
The school is seeking a confident and resilient Behaviour Support Worker with experience in a similar role, ideally supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will work closely with students on both a one‐to‐one basis and in small groups, helping to create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment.
The role is being offered on a temp‐to‐perm basis, so being able to work full‐time for the position is essential.
Your Role:
Supporting students on a one‐to‐one basis or in small groups
Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to engage pupils in learning and minimise disruption
Providing regular feedback to teachers, parents, and senior staff
Supporting students with SEMH needs and behavioural challenges
Helping students develop confidence, resilience, and positive coping strategies
Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting students both inside and outside of the classroom
The ideal candidate:
Experience working in a similar Behaviour Support Worker or Behaviour Mentor role
Confident supporting students with SEMH needs
Outgoing, resilient, and nurturing mannerEnthusiastic and passionate about helping young people reach their full potential
Able to think on their feet and remain calm under pressure
Ability to form excellent relationships and rapport with pupils
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
