Job OverviewWe are looking for a Healthcare Support Worker to join the Children's Community Nursing Service, working within our Continuing Care and Health Short Breaks Team. The role focuses on providing high‐quality respite care for children and young people with multiple complex health needs and learning disabilities, primarily within the family home.

Responsibilities

Provide high‐quality respite care for children and young people with complex health needs and learning disabilities within family homes.

Deliver personal hygiene support, administer medications, provide tube feeds, and assist with moving and handling.

Enable children to play, have fun and thrive in their own homes.

Build positive relationships with children and parents and work effectively as part of a team.

Collaborate with other clinical teams such as Hannah House, Specialist Inclusion Learning Centres, and the Children's Nursing Team.

Working ConditionsThe role operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and requires working a rota that includes days, nights, weekends and bank holidays. Flexible working arrangements are supported where possible.

As a community‐based post, the role involves travel between family homes. Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence, have access to a vehicle, and maintain business insurance cover.

Qualifications & Requirements

Previous clinical experience is not required; training will be provided.

Experience working with children is beneficial.

Full UK driving licence and vehicle with business insurance.

Capability to work independently and as part of a team.

Career ProgressionProgression to a Band 4 Associate Practitioner is available for those who wish to advance.
