Job OverviewThis post is for someone who has a genuine enthusiasm for caring and supporting women who have Gynaecological problems. The post holder will support registered nursing staff and other health care professionals in the delivery of nursing care to patients at a level determined by training, competence and experience. They will also assist in the maintenance of the care environment and perform housekeeping, clerical, ancillary and pottering roles as requested.

Post holder will need to be able to work flexibly with a wide variety of shift patterns.

Responsibilities

Assist in the provision of patient care in accordance with the care plan prescribed by registered nurses.

Support the efficient running of a busy Gynaecology Ward and Gynaecology Assessment Unit alongside other healthcare assistants, nurses, specialist nurses and doctors.

Take patients' observations as appropriate to the level of knowledge, skills and competence achieved and record them in accordance with trust and local policies.

Assist healthcare professionals with treatment and carry out additional care roles under supervision and as determined by the levels of competence achieved.

Maintain the care environment and perform housekeeping, clerical, ancillary and pottering roles as requested.

Work flexibly with a wide variety of shift patterns.

About the TrustWalsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300, providing inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community.
