Band 3, Part‐time – 7.5 hours per week (Monday‐Sunday)
Senior Clinical Support WorkerJob OverviewVisa sponsorship is not available for this Band 3 role. The position is currently open to candidates resident in the UK and who meet the required qualifications and experience.
Main Duties of the JobThe post involves providing basic patient care, assisting with procedures, chaperoning and organising the daily run of ophthalmology clinics.
Perfoming vision tests, IOP readings and colour vision tests.
Assisting in theatres and supporting chaperoning during procedures.
Booking appointments and adding patient referrals.
Removing dressings and carrying out simple dressing under supervision.
Measuring patient observations: height, weight and BMI.
Ensuring high standards of patient care and experience.
Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
Support and chaperone patients during procedures.
Organise and run individual clinics including Macula, Pre‐assessment, Main Ophthalmology, County Eye and Emergency Eye clinics.
Perform vision tests and IOP, colour vision assessments.
Assist in theatre and day‐to‐day clinic tasks.
Book appointments and manage patient referrals.
Qualifications
GSCE Maths and English at grade C/4 (or Level 2 Functional Skills) and proof of equivalence for overseas qualifications.
Full Care Certificate or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care from an accredited awarding body.
Experience
12 months experience in a professional contract as a Healthcare Assistant (or equivalent).
Employer Certification / AccreditationCompliance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the Disclosure and Barring Service requirements.

Working Conditions & BenefitsOur part‐time contract offers a pro‐rated annual salary of £25,760 – £27,476. Flexible working arrangements are considered in line with Trust policies.
