End Point Assessor - Apprenticeship - Senior Healthcare Support Worker (Theater Support) (Level 3) Join to apply for the End Point Assessor - Apprenticeship - Senior Healthcare Support Worker (Theater Support) (Level 3) role at PearsonIndependent end-point assessor for Senior Healthcare Support Worker (Theatre Support) (Level 3)About PearsonPearson is the world's leading learning company, with 35,000 employees in more than 70 countries working to help people of all ages to make measurable progress in their lives through learning.Overview Of The Independent End-point Assessor RoleGovernment has introduced a requirement that all apprenticeships contain an end-point assessment (EPA) which is a holistic assessment of the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviour (KSBs) that have been learnt throughout the apprenticeship.An independent EPA means that those making a decision on the competency of the apprentice have nothing to gain from the outcome of the assessment.Key AccountabilitiesTake part in regular training and standardisation activities, associated with the role of IEA for this EPAMaintain and provide evidence of ongoing, relevant Continuous Professional Development (CPD)Assess the performance of candidates in accordance with published assessment and grading criteria and procedures, ensuring overall standards are maintainedFollow the protocols set out in Pearson's specifications, assessment materials and quality assurance protocols, relating to the EPAsMaintain service-level agreements with regards to responding to EPA planning, operational activities, reports and submissions of assessment outcomesReport all risks and issues encountered during the end-point assessment to Pearson, including any suspected malpractice/maladministrationEnsure all EPA reports and assessment evidence are high quality and recorded accuratelySupport Pearson, if necessary, with any appeals from apprentices, regarding assessment decisionsAllow additional time for travel, when making EPA arrangementsRaise any conflicts of interest, including in relation to the independence of assessmentEnsure that any personal actions are completed, as required by PearsonContribute to the continuous improvement of Pearson's end-point assessment activitiesContribute to the external quality assurance activities undertaken by Ofqual.Person SpecificationOccupational ProfileSenior Healthcare Support Workers (SHCSW) help registered practitioners deliver healthcare services to people.Theatre SupportTheatre Support Workers look after people before, during and after operations.Background And Experience (essential)Be occupationally competent in the theatre support fieldBe a registered healthcare professional or have completed a level 5 apprenticeship or regulated occupational competence qualification at level 5 or aboveHold, or be working towards, a formal assessor qualification (e.g. A1, assessor component to TAQA etc)Have experience of working in a healthcare setting within the last 2 yearsExperience of leading meetings/structured interviews/discussionsExperience of complying with quality assurance/regulatory requirementsEvidence of commitment to maintaining CPD, in line with new apprenticeship requirements and the EPA specialism(s), including maintenance of recent occupational experienceHold a current Enhanced DBS (with or without a barred list check) that is registered for the update service.Willing to travel to employer locations for face-to-face practical assessmentsMinimum of two working days during the week will be required for EPA role.Essential (others)Only UK based candidates will be considered for this role due to requirementsBackground And Experience (desirable)To hold, or be working towards an internal quality assurance qualificationExperience of making grading judgementKnowledge of prevent & safeguardingSkills & Knowledge (Essential)Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively respond to conflictsAbility to understand and respond to the individual needs and circumstances of employers/apprenticesSufficient and relevant technical knowledge of:the healthcare sectorthe role of the theatre support workerIn-depth knowledge of the associated apprenticeship standard, assessment plan, specification, assessment instruments and recording toolsAbility to assess, free from biasAbility to assess and report risksAbility to meet deadlinesOther RequirementsHave personal IT equipment capable of running Pearson required softwareHave a suitable broadband connection, Microphone, Headphones and a webcamHave a personal and secure email accountHave a postal address in the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey Isle of ManHave the right to work in the UKAllow additional time for travel, when making EPA arrangements
