Primary PurposeThe Manager, Statutory Accounting will oversee complex accounting and tax matters and support the delivery of European statutory reporting, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely preparation and filing across the region. The role provides oversight of company policies and their impact on statutory requirements for Tapestry's European entities. Acting as a key point of contact for European auditors and external accountants, the Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders across Europe, Asia, and the US.

Role Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain US GAAP to local GAAP bridge files and document necessary adjustments

Prepare financial statements using OneSource software, collaborating closely with external auditors to implement updates, prepare supporting documentation, and ensure timely submission by statutory deadlines

Partner with the Transfer Pricing and Tax teams to obtain required adjustments for financial statements

Compile and deliver audit support, responding to queries from auditors and external accountants as required

Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely and complete responses to auditor and accountant requests

Work closely with Statutory Reporting Managers and Senior Director to drive the successful preparation and on-time filing of European statutory accounts and supporting clear communication across the wider European Finance team

Liaise with company secretaries and directors to complete necessary formalities related to statutory filings

Support the business and local advisors with the preparation and submission of all financial statutory filings, including quarterly questionnaires

Provide ad hoc information requests to the Tax team for projects including interim bridge files

Research and document changes to UK GAAP and other relevant reporting standards, and assess and communicate impacts to local accounting teams

Contribute ideas and initiatives for continuous process improvement, enhancing efficiency, controls, and quality across statutory reporting activities

Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge by attending relevant seminars and professional development events to ensure ongoing compliance with evolving statutory reporting requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline

Newly qualified ACA

Strong knowledge of statutory accounting and financial reporting principles; US GAAP experience is advantageous

Retail industry experience or a strong interest in the sector is advantageous

Strong technical accounting capability

Clear, confident verbal and written communication skills

Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Strong systems and IT skills, with confidence working across multiple platforms

A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the confidence to take ownership and initiative

The ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment

Critical thinking, analytical, prioritisation, and problem‐solving skills
