Role OverviewJoin Alcedo Care Workington as a Complex care assistant. This advert is for package work with one client; if you are looking for home care please see our other adverts. The package specifically requires a minimum of 6 months recent care experience in a professional setting. You will play a key role in supporting a lady in her own home who has MND. Support will also involve tracheostomy care and ventilation support. Joining an experienced and dedicated team of carers, you will receive comprehensive training to ensure you feel confident and competent in carrying out your role to the highest standard. Area: CA22 Egremont. Pay: £14.75-£15.25ph.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, person-centred care to the client in her own home, including complex health needs related to MND, tracheostomy care, and ventilation support.

Carry out clinical tasks under the supervision of the in-house nursing team, such as manual cough assist, digital stimulation for bowel management, postural and spinal support, PEG care, and continence and mobility support.

Assist with meal preparation, domestic tasks, and promoting independence while maintaining dignity and comfort for the client.

Work within a flexible pattern, including full 12-hour day and night shifts, weekends on/off, and around 2–3 days per week (more days can be discussed).

Attend and complete mandatory training and competency sign-off to ensure confidence and safety in all duties.

Qualifications

At least 6 months of hands-on care experience in a UK care setting.

Previous experience with tracheostomy or ventilation is desirable; full training will be provided by our in-house nursing team.

Eligibility to work aged 18 or over; adherence to flexible hours including late evenings and weekends.

Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references required.

Area: CA22 Egremont

Pay: £14.75–£15.25 per hour

Shift Pattern: Full 12-hour days and nights available; weekends on/off basis; ~2–3 days per week (more days can be discussed); driving not required as client at one address. Non-drivers must be able to travel to the client's home.
