Care AssistantFull Time / Part Time

Desirable CriteriaExperience of caring for elderly people in a formal setting is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.

You should have good oral communication skills and be able to communicate with patients/residents, colleagues at all levels of seniority, and families/visitors.

You should have good interpersonal skills, empathise, maintain professionalism, display patience and politeness.

The Role of the Care AssistantTo provide care for our residents/patients under the guidance and supervision of the Home Manager and trained Nursing Staff, and to promote positive holistic physical, psychological and social well‐being.

Assist and promote well‐being, independence and social engagement.

Create a stimulating environment that enables us to deliver exceptional care and support for our residents.

About You

Compassionate, caring and motivated.

Understanding of concerns and issues regarding the care of those with dementia or mental health disorders.

General Responsibilities

Achieve and maintain registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council.

Be aware of mandatory training, EVO Learning schedules, and participate actively in training sessions, especially those required by RQIA and NISCC.

Maintain accurate records, including completion of food and fluid intake charts and other daily monitoring records as directed.

Demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic, committed and flexible attitude towards patients/residents and other staff members, recognising the importance and benefits of respect and effective team working.

Work agreed shift patterns including 12‐hour shifts days/nights, weekends and public holidays.
