Job description

Graduate Human Factors Consultant – Nottingham, UKAs a Graduate Human Factors Consultant, you will support the delivery of Human Factors and ergonomics assessments across complex systems and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

Support the delivery of Human Factors and ergonomics assessments across complex systems and infrastructure projects.

Contribute to project activities including:

Task and workload analysis

Human error identification and mitigation

User needs analysis

Safety and risk assessment

Human–system interface evaluation

Collect and analyse qualitative and quantitative Human Factors data through methods such as observations, interviews, workshops, and document reviews.

Assist in preparing technical reports, client presentations, and project documentation, ensuring outputs are clear and evidence‐based.

Work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and other specialists within multidisciplinary project teams.

Develop consulting and technical skills through mentoring, structured training, and on‐the‐job learning as part of AECOM's graduate development programme.

Qualifications

A BSc or MSc in Human Factors, Ergonomics, or a closely related Human Factors discipline.

A Human Factors qualification (or equivalent academic specialisation) is required.

A strong interest in Human Factors and human‐centred design, with the motivation to build a career in this field.

Strong analytical thinking and problem‐solving abilities.

Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, with confidence to engage with clients and stakeholders.

The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Some projects may require eligibility for security clearance, particularly for defence‐related work.
