Care Assistant

Job description

Avery Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant to join the team at Hempstalls Hall Care Home located in Newcastle-under-Lyme. The role involves providing high standards of personal care to residents, ensuring their dignity and independence. The position is permanently contracted, with shifts from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 9:30 pm. No prior experience is required as full training and induction are provided.

Job responsibilities

Assist residents in all personal hygiene care, ensuring optimum independence, dignity and respect at all times.

Recognise and understand clinical risk areas such as weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, signs of infection and raise any identified risks in a timely manner.

Act courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting each resident's dignity and individuality.

Practice safe systems of work across the range of tasks.

Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with the care team and residents.

About you

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Demonstrate initiative, respect and efficiency in the workplace.

Be an adaptable and flexible worker able to cover a range of responsibilities on short notice.

Have the ability to follow reasonable instructions from other team members.

No previous experience required; we provide thorough induction and training.

Requirements

Shift details: 7:30 am–2:30 pm and 2:30 pm–9:30 pm.

DBS Disclosure check (cost covered by Avery Healthcare).

Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.

Other Information

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975; a DBS submission will be required.
