Health Care Assistant

Job description

Duties

Provide assistance and support to individuals with daily living activities

Assist with personal care tasks, such as bathing, grooming, and dressing

Help with feeding & drinking

Administer medication under the supervision of a nurse or healthcare professional

Assist with light housekeeping tasks, including laundry and tidying up living areas

Accompany individuals to medical appointments or social outings

Monitor and report any changes in clients' physical or mental health to the appropriate healthcare professionals

Provide emotional support and companionship to clients

Experience

Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required

Knowledge of basic caregiving techniques and principles

Ability to communicate effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals

Compassionate and patient demeanour

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
