Overview

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established 41-bedded residential care home in Manchester for an experienced Night Senior Care Assistant . This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and compassionate senior carer who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and leading night teams effectively.The home supports elderly residents, including those living with dementia, and prides itself on maintaining a safe, calm, and supportive environment during night hours.

Key Responsibilities

As a Night Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe running of the home overnight. Responsibilities will include:Leading and supervising the night care team to ensure high standards of care are consistently delivered

Providing hands-on, person-centred care to residents, including personal care, mobility support, and continence care

Administering medication safely in line with company policies

Conducting regular welfare checks and responding promptly to residents' needs during the night

Acting as the main point of contact overnight, escalating concerns appropriately to on-call management or emergency services when required

Supporting residents with dementia, ensuring reassurance, comfort, and dignity at all times

Completing accurate documentation, including care notes, incident reports, and handover notes

Ensuring safeguarding, health & safety, and infection control procedures are followed at all times

Supporting new or junior staff members and leading by example

Maintaining a calm, reassuring environment throughout the night

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:Proven experience as a Senior Care Assistant within a residential or nursing home

NVQ Level 3 or above in Health & Social Care (essential)

Experience supporting elderly residents , including those with dementia

Confident in medication administration and senior responsibilities

Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
