Salary: £14.30/hour

What the role involves:
Helping teachers create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Encouraging positive behaviour and using calm, effective de‐escalation techniques when needed.
Working in smaller class groups (typically 5–8 pupils) and occasionally supporting on a 1:1 basis.
Assisting learners with communication barriers and working collaboratively with multi‐disciplinary teams.
Bringing enthusiasm, energy and a positive attitude to contribute to a happy and healthy school culture.
About the schoolThe school supports learners aged 3–19 with a range of Additional Learning Needs (ALN), including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), PMLD, and physical disabilities.
Their ethos centres on helping every learner grow into a confident, capable individual, supporting them from early years right through to sixth form as they prepare for the next stage of life.
It's a setting filled with care, structure and high aspirations, where staff work together to transform young people's experiences of education.
What you'll need
A bachelor's degree in psychology or a Social Science discipline
An Enhanced DBS (we can guide you through this).
Registration with the EWC (we can help with this too).
No teaching qualifications required.
Previous SEN experience is beneficial but not essential. Enthusiasm, empathy and a willingness to learn are key.
Ability to remain calm, patient and compassionate in high‐pressure or emotional situations.
