Payroll Specialist (part-time)

Job description

Our team is growing and we are looking for someone with experience of working in a fast-paced environment to join our payroll team. If you are a team player fuelled by ambition, then this role might just be for you.

As a payroll specialist, you will carve a key support role as part of Harold Sharp's payroll team and be supported technically and personally as you develop your career in payroll. You will work collaboratively with other departments internally as well as external providers to ensure the highest of standards are met. This role offers great opportunity for development and growth and the opportunity to work in a supportive and busy payroll team.

What else does your role involve?

Working alongside the Payroll Manager to produce accurate and timely payrolls

Reconciling weekly timesheets and handling the input of overtime and bonus payments

Processing any new starters and leavers within the organisations

Ensuring all payments are met with regards to BACS Salary Payments and Pension Contributions

Excellent understanding and application of relevant tax, NI contributions and deductions

Plus, we'd love for you to have

Proven payroll experience

Strong computer skills are required, specifically Microsoft Excel, whilst previous experience using Sage / Xero is desired

A solid understanding of payroll statutory requirements

Key skills

Confident communicator

Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and client service

Proficient with Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Organised, proactive and confident self-starter

Ability to work under pressure and prioritise key tasks effectively

Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Understanding of AML and KYC for new and existing clients

Understanding and application of software and systems required for the role

This is a flexible office based role, ideally suited to someone looking for 20 - 25 hours a week, over five days.
