HGV CLASS 1 DRIVER – WELLINGBOROUGH, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, weekly pay and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.

This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category C+E Driver, Tramper Driver, General Haulage Driver or Container Driver.

Shifts

 • Four on, four off rota (rota provided)
 • Day shifts
 • Start times between 04:00 – 06:00

Rates of Pay

 • Monday to Friday – £18.00 per hour
 • Overtime – £20.00 per hour after 45 hours

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include but not be limited to:

 • Completing depot-to-depot trunking routes and trailer swaps
 • Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
 • Ensuring all loads are secured safely and correctly
 • Adhering to traffic laws, company procedures and delivery schedules
 • Communicating effectively with transport teams and site personnel
 • Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements promptly

Essential Skills

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

 • A valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence
 • A minimum of two years' Class 1 (C+E) driving experience
 • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements
 • A valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
 • Good spoken and written English
 • Five years of referenceable work history

Desirable Experience

 • Previous commercial driving experience
 • Previous trunking experience
 • Experience completing trailer swaps

Training Provided

 • Driving assessment required prior to starting
 • Training and ongoing support provided throughout the assignment
