Syme Drummond is delighted to be supporting a market‐leading Scottish FMCG business with the appointment of a confident and experienced Senior HR Advisor to provide evening and weekend HR support within a fast‐paced, 24/7 operational environment based in North Lanarkshire.
This is a true generalist role offering real autonomy and the opportunity to become a trusted HR presence supporting operational teams across a large and varied workforce. Created to provide dedicated HR support across key shift periods, this role ensures managers and employees have access to practical, commercially focused HR guidance when they need it most.
Working closely with the wider HR team whilst operating independently during evening and weekend shifts, this role will suit someone who enjoys a hands‐on environment, is confident building credibility quickly and can provide calm, pragmatic support across a broad range of people matters.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting managers across a broad range of employee relations and operational HR matters within a busy and fast‐paced environment
Providing guidance and support through disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance and capability matters, ensuring fairness, consistency and compliance
Supporting managers with absence management, return‐to‐work processes and wider attendance‐related discussions
Coaching and mentoring managers on people matters and helping build confidence and capability across operational teams
Supporting recruitment, onboarding and wider workforce activity, including contractual changes and employee lifecycle processes
Contributing to wider people initiatives and helping strengthen HR processes and ways of working where required
Maintaining a visible and credible HR presence during evening and weekend operations, building trusted relationships and providing practical, solutions‐focused support
About You
Already operating at experienced Senior HR Advisor level, or within a similar advisory capacity
Confident managing more complex employee relations matters and providing practical, commercially focused advice
Comfortable working independently and making sound decisions within a fast‐paced environment
Able to build credibility quickly with managers and operational teams
Highly organised, resilient and comfortable managing changing priorities
Committed to delivering a positive employee experience and supporting operational success
Experience gained within manufacturing would be advantageous, although we would also welcome applications from those with experience across other fast‐paced settings such as logistics, retail or similar.
CIPD Level 5 qualified, or working towards this, would be advantageous.
Working PatternMonday 3pm–7pmTuesday–Thursday 7pm–11pmPlus 4 hours at the weekend
This is a fully onsite role based in North Lanarkshire.
