Job description

Overview SEN / SEND Tutor, Somerset / Bristol role at TieTalent with a focus on core subjects (Maths, English, or Science) for young people with SEND, SEMH, and other additional educational needs in Somerset / Bristol.
Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet a wide variety of needs. We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN / SEND, and other needs such as SEMH. We work to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people and support tutors with a team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists.
This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who are able to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with diverse learning needs in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role

Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision

Support learners referred by local authorities and schools with educational and social-emotional needs

Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring where required

SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities

Plan each tutoring/mentoring session

Deliver engaging sessions that meet learner needs and progress their educational and social-emotional journey

Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on learner progress

SEN / SEND Tutor requirements

Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)

Minimum 2 years teaching experience

Experience working with learners with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or other needs

Safeguarding knowledge and experience

Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain this at cost if needed)

Two professional references

UK-based with the right to work in the UK, including for remote/online work

SEN / SEND Tutor employment status

Contract for service with PAYE payment
