HGV CLASS 2 DRIVER – WARRINGTON, CHESHIRE

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Driver to join our well-established client based in Warrington, Cheshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, paid breaks, guaranteed minimum shift pay and ongoing work with a leading logistics business.

This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 2 Driver, LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver, Multi-Drop Driver, Store Delivery Driver or Truck Driver.

Shifts

 • Working five days out of seven (including some weekend working)
 • AM shifts: 01:00 – 04:00 start times
 • PM shifts: 14:00 – 18:00 start times

Rates of Pay

 • £17.13 per hour (standard 48 hours)
 • £25.70 per hour (overtime after 48 hours)
 • Minimum of 12 hours paid per shift
 • All breaks fully paid

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, your duties will include but not be limited to:

 • Working rotating shift patterns
 • Driving Category C vehicles safely and efficiently
 • Completing 6–7 product deliveries to stores across the UK each day
 • Ensuring all loads are maintained at the correct temperatures throughout the journey
 • Safely unloading cages using a tail lift and delivering them into stores
 • Taking photographs to document successful deliveries
 • Providing excellent customer service at delivery locations
 • Reporting any customer concerns promptly to management
 • Completing vehicle checks and reporting defects where necessary

Essential Skills

To be successful as an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will need:

 • A minimum of six months' experience as a Class 2 Driver
 • A valid UK Category C Driving Licence
 • A valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
 • No more than six penalty points for minor offences
 • No major endorsements, including DR10, DG10, IN10 or TT99
 • Strong customer service and communication skills
 • Good spoken and written English
 • Excellent timekeeping and reliability

Desirable Experience

 • Previous commercial driving experience
 • Experience completing store deliveries
 • Familiarity with cage deliveries and temperature-controlled distribution

Training Provided

 • First-day assessment
 • Two weeks of training alongside an experienced permanent team member
 • Industry-related training provided
 • Ongoing support and development throughout your assignment
