Band 6 Occupational Therapist – Paediatrics (Term-Time Only)

Location: West Midlands

Role Type: Permanent (Term-time only)

Salary: Up to £45,000 actual


The Role

Cpl UK Healthcare are currently recruiting for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join Maple House School, working within an independent specialist school supporting children and young people aged 5–19 with autism and related social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.


Details

The role involves working within a specialist educational environment supporting pupils with autism spectrum conditions and associated SEMH needs. You will provide occupational therapy assessment and intervention to support sensory regulation, emotional wellbeing, functional independence, and access to learning.


Responsibilities

  • Manage a paediatric caseload within a specialist school setting
  • Complete functional, sensory, and developmental assessments
  • Develop and implement individualised therapy programmes
  • Support pupils with sensory regulation and SEMH-related needs
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Contribute to EHCPs and educational outcomes
  • Provide staff training and therapeutic strategies
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and reports


Requirements

  • HCPC registration
  • Experience in paediatric occupational therapy, ideally within SEN or specialist education settings
  • Knowledge of autism, SEMH, and sensory processing needs
  • Ability to work independently within an educational environment
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
