Senior Associate / Associate, Global Retail & Consumer Investments, Global Top 10 SWF (Role Based in GCC)

Job description

Our client, a global top-10 sovereign wealth fund based in the Middle East, is expanding its Retail & Consumer Investments team and is seeking a high-calibre Senior Associate and Associate to support investments across the global Consumer & Retail sector.

Senior Associate:

• 7+ years of relevant experience within a leading Investment Bank, Elite Boutique, Private Equity fund, or other highly regarded investment platform.
• Strong experience leading transaction workstreams across Retail & Consumer investments and M&A transactions.

Associate:

• 5+ years of relevant experience within a leading Investment Bank, Elite Boutique, Private Equity fund, or other highly regarded investment platform.
• Demonstrated transaction experience across Retail & Consumer investments and/or M&A transactions.

For Both Levels:

• Experience gained at a Tier 1 bulge bracket bank, elite boutique, leading private equity firm, or other highly regarded investment platform.
• Exposure to M&A, principal investing, private equity, growth equity, or strategic investments.
• Recent Retail & Consumer transaction experience is essential.
• Exposure to North American and/or European transactions and investments is strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree from a leading university with an outstanding academic record.
• Excellent financial modelling, valuation, analytical, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify, evaluate, and execute investment opportunities across the global Retail & Consumer landscape.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis, valuation assessments, industry research, and commercial due diligence.
• Build and maintain complex financial models, including operating models, LBO models, DCF analyses, and merger/acquisition scenarios.
• Lead and support transaction execution processes, coordinating with management teams, advisors, consultants, lenders, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare investment memoranda, presentations, and recommendations for senior management and investment committees.
• Monitor existing portfolio companies and investments, providing strategic and financial analysis to support value creation initiatives.
• Assess market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging themes within the Retail & Consumer sectors to generate actionable investment insights.
• Work closely with internal investment teams and external partners on portfolio management, governance, and strategic initiatives.
• Support post-investment activities, including performance monitoring, growth strategy assessment, and exit planning where appropriate.
