Project Manager – Wastewater Infrastructure

Brighton (1 day per week) + projects across Hampshire, Portsmouth & Southampton

Up to £60,000 + package

Ideal for candidates based across the South Coast region


An established infrastructure contractor delivering major wastewater and utilities projects across the South is looking to appoint a Project Manager to support a growing programme of works. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced PM with strong civil engineering and site delivery experience to join a sector seeing huge levels of long-term investment and growth.


With over £1.5bn being invested into Southern Water’s network to reduce storm overflows and improve environmental performance, there has never been a better time to move into the water industry.


The business is open to Project Managers from any sector background — utilities, highways, rail, civils, infrastructure or construction — provided you have solid project delivery experience and at least 5+ years managing civil and site-based projects.


The Role

You will oversee wastewater and infrastructure projects from planning through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Projects are primarily based across:

Hampshire

Portsmouth

Southampton

Surrounding South Coast areas

…with just 1 day per week based in Brighton.


✅ Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects through the full delivery lifecycle
  • Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and stakeholders
  • Ensure works are delivered safely and in line with programme and budget
  • Monitor project performance, reporting progress and risks
  • Maintain strong client and operational relationships
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and environmental standards
  • Support planning, commercial and operational teams throughout delivery


About You

  • 5+ years’ experience delivering civil engineering and site-based projects
  • Background in construction, civils, utilities, infrastructure or engineering projects
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Able to manage multiple workstreams and operational activities
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Water sector experience is beneficial but not essential
